Research area
Area of research: cardio-metabolic disease. The aim is to understand at the molecular level the communication between the cardiovascular system, the gut-liver and adipose tissue in the pathophysiology of immune-inflammatory and metabolic disarrangements diabetes type 2 and obesity. Elucidating the role and interactions of hormones (like glucagon like peptide-1 and bile acids) with the endothelium and lipoproteins, in particular of high and low density lipoproteins.
10/2015-present. Swiss National Science Foundation-Ambizione Group leader
Laboratory of Translational Nutrition Biology of the Institute of Food Nutrition and Health at ETH, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland.
01/2011-09/2015. Postdoctoral research at the Center of Molecular Cardiology, Zürich University, Switzerland.
02/2007-04/2010. PhD student in cardiovascular sciences at Cardiology Clinic, Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Sciences, University of Padua, Padua, Italy.
12/2002-12/2006. MD Residency and Board Certification in Cardiology, Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Sciences, University Hospital of Padua, Padua, Italy.
