Research area

Area of research: cardio-metabolic disease.  The aim is to understand at the molecular level the communication between the cardiovascular system, the gut-liver and adipose tissue in the pathophysiology of immune-inflammatory and metabolic disarrangements diabetes type 2 and obesity. Elucidating the role and interactions of hormones (like glucagon like peptide-1 and bile acids) with  the  endothelium and lipoproteins, in particular of high and low density lipoproteins.
