Laboratory of Physiology & Behaviour - Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Langhans

Main content

Physiological mechanisms that control eating and energy homeostasis, and their disturbances: Primary interests are the roles of gut peptides and peripheral metabolism, in particular fatty acid oxidation, in the control of eating. A combination of molecular, immunohistochemical, experimental surgical and behavioral approaches are used, and a unique strength is the establishment of sophisticated methods to isolate and manipulate specific critical components of the gut-brain axis.
